Small county fairs are so great!
There is no admission price.
You can walk through the animal barns in 15 minutes.
The agriculture and art barn take a total of 5 minutes combined,
and everybody wins a ribbon.
They never run out of caramel and buttermilk pie.
Or tamales.
And a family can spend the entire afternoon,
totally alone,
on the carnival rides;
where the workers let you ride, and ride, and ride.
Until the tamales, caramel and buttermilk pies
threaten the pristine grass below.
And until you have enough vertigo to carry you through until the next year.
Long live small county fairs!
