Sadly, I have no pictures of your birthday celebration today (dead batteries + it hasn't happened yet.) But it's not too big a deal, as we've decided to stick a candle in the cookies we made yesterday, instead of bothering with a cake. And, add that to the fact that you're not getting anything but a garage sale swing, who needs pictures? (No offense, but you're only TWO..., and you're number 7)
Instead I'll include pictures of your two best tricks - at two years old.
1. When we send you to your bedroom for being naughty you can't come out until you
a. Kiss the party you offended
and
b. Smile (thereby proving you are done whining)
You're smile is sometimes pretty weak and so we taught you to push the corners of your mouth up for more convincing results. Sometimes you're just pushing in empty, smile-less cheeks, but that's ok - it still melts us everytime.
2. The second best trick is something Maddie taught you. She knows all about conniving ways. She taught you to fold your hands in front of you, then look up through your lashes and say "pwwwwease" when you want cakes, cookies, or candy.
And finally - Did you know that your due date was October 18? The same day our first baby Justin was born? Did you also know that October 27 was Justin's due date? The same day you were born? Kind of makes a tidy little circle doesn't it? I think it's a sign showing that the end is the beginning and the beginning is the end. Completing our family circle. We love you. Happy Birthday.
