Luckily Saturday dawned clear enough that we could slosh out to the pasture, instead of swim. It was time to microchip the babies, doctor some legs, and
de-worm again before the rain came back. Bert faithfully takes us with him on these little excursions, and it's certainly not because we're any great help. It's simply -to his credit as a husband and father- because he wants to bond. And that we do. In fact, one time we managed to skewer Bert's hand on a meat hook, and then we had to resew it per his instructions (thereby proving that we bond both literally and figuratively.)
This time was no exception. It started with a game (probably made up by Calder), that required balance, arm strength, and speed.

Bert decided to show them what 'old man strength' could do,

But Cache still won (not surprising when you look at that form).

We only had one (tailbone crushing, wind knocked out of you) casualty, but she had a fantastic sympathizer.

Then it was time to get down to business. Ha. I told you we're not a lot of help; as proven by Justin's reluctance in the picture below.

(No, I can't hang Justin out to dry like that. This horse was definitely crazier than he appears.)
Anyway, between bouts with the fire ants,

and boredom,

...we finally finished.
And one can only hope we
dewormed the right thing.
